(It’s Not Just for the “Big Boys”)
at the
2009 Logging Congress & Equipment Expo

Growing UP Foresters Interactive Exhibit
                                            (Located in Building #10)

An exhibit which creates the special effects and hands-on activities for the young and old to participate in by creating awareness of the forests habitat, environment, products, and economic impact, truly an “Educational Experience”.

Participants work their way through the exhibit and find themselves at the “Camp Store” to purchase items with wooden nickels they earned by completing tasks.

Michigan DNR Pocket Park Interactive Exhibit
(Located in Building #6)
Catering to the outdoor enthusiast, anyone who may be interested in hunting, fishi ng, or sightseeing.
Families with young children will want to head for the DNR Pocket Park, a one-acre parcel of woodland beauty centrally located in the fairgrounds. The main attractions are the Upper Peninsula-shaped pond for catch and release fishing, an archery range and a pellet gun range.
With an emphasis on gun and bow safety, this program is not only fun, but educational.  The DNR Pocket Park features numerous interactive displays such as waterfalls, a rock and minerals display and an authentic fire tower for the public to climb.

Truck Rides
(Available Saturday between 9 a.m. to Noon)
(Rides will be located at the back “Entrance, near the Food Oasis tent).

This is quite a thrill for the kids and when the drivers honk the air horn, it makes it extra special!

Rides are approximately 10 minutes.  Trucks used are “International Tractor Sleepers.”

The Delta Area Chamber of Commerce is on hand to provide certificates for  each of the kids with their picture on it.

Schultz Equipment Company has provided this new attraction for 4 years and continues to be a huge success!

SMOKEY BEAR
Another great reason to attend this year’s show is to visit with Smokey Bear and get your picture taken.  He will be on site on Saturday, Septmeber 12, 2009, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Smokey Bear is known nation-wide and is a mascot of the United States Forest Service created to educate the public on the dangers of forest fires. Smokey Bear's message "Only You Can Prevent Forest Fires" was created in 1944 by the Ad Council and is still growing strong today.

Don’t miss sharing these experiences with your children!
